Publishing Problems with Duplicate Projects.

User: Malte L. 9 years ago
Hi,

Two of my projects started their life as a duplicate of another project. For these duplicates, the Ever Web publishing process does not work properly. The copies take a lot longer to publish, even when the content is still the same as the original. Publishing any changes to these projects through everweb takes about 5 times longer than using an ftp program that pubishes the entire site. Indeed very often the process is interrupted before publishing is complete.

Also, when I successfully published and click on "Visit the site now", the link leads to the original site!

FInally, the webpage subtitle ( for lack of a more precise name, the short phrase that appears in the browser tab) for the duplicate project remains the same as the original one and I could not find where to change that.

Any ideas what to do? The sites each have 30 and more pages, hence just starting from scratch is not really an option.

Thanks in advance,

Malte

When you duplicate a project, are you also changing the site name at the top of the left column in EverWeb?

Hi Roddy,

do you mean the column below th master pages field?

Everweb changes that name automatically, adding a "Kopieren" (in German that mean copy) to the name. In addition for one of the duplicate projects I changed that name.

Yes, the site name. This is the name given to the folder that the site files are published to. Double click it to change it.
