Viewing Zooming ?

Zooming ?

User: Theo K. 9 years ago
I have a few projects where the Inspector window covers up part of the project. It makes it impossible to select an item that is behind the window. I have to hide the inspector, select the item, enable the inspector and then do whatever I want to do with the item. To see the result I will have to disable the inspector again.

I can scroll sideways, but the master page, which in this case is a full width (menu) bar, is fixed and does not respond to the sideway scrolling.
I'd prefer being able to zoom in and zoom out. I work on a 13" Macbook and I don't have enough real estate to get a full view on my project.
Am I missing something or is this not possible and do I have to post this as a feature request?

Hi Theo

You could try presentation mode (Cmd+period key) ... don't know if that will give you enough space to get to the the object you want to select. Or select all then deselect everything else (yup it's a drag if you have lots of objects on the page)...

But yes, nice idea to have in the product...

If the width of the page is around 800, or even just to squeeze a bit more space available, you can reduce the left side by dragging (side with page names). I am on 13" mbp and keep my pages at 800, reduce left side, and have access to whole page.
May want to post something in Bug Reports as the not sideways scrolling on master with menu may be a bug.

Yes, I could reduce the width of the page to 800. Mine are usually 1000.
It would make sense however to have a zoom function built in.
I don't think one should have to change a website width to accommodate the software.

Maybe I should post this as a feature request.

Zoom has been requested before but I suppose the more requests the higher it might move up the list.

I would like to have a zoom out function as well to see the whole page. The lack of this function is the reason we did not renew our subscription. Hope this new function will be added and we can come back to EverWeb.

In the meantime, I recommend you use the built in zooming feature on your Mac. You can learn how to use it here, it is really easy;

I think there is one "/" too many. Paul means this link:

This is a way to zoom and I use it sometimes, but I would prefer to zoom into the document itself, not my whole screen. This way the menus are not blocking my view so that I am able see more of the project.
It would be the same as suggesting to move my head close to my screen ;)
