Viewing liking webpage to google

liking webpage to google

User: Coralie E. 8 years ago
Hi there,

I am trying to link my webpage to google and have gotten as far as having it mounted on my google search console. However, I am unable to verify it. The google recomnded method is to download a HTML verification file and then upload it to the webpage. How do I do this exactly?

There are easier ways to do it. You could use the meta tag verification method or the Google Analytics method which just requires copying and pasting the code snippets into the Site Header field under the File menu->Edit Publishing Settings.

I hope this helps.

Hi again,

Google suggests
1. Download this HTML verification file. [googleace5604dca2e17d9.html]
2. Upload the file to http://www.hoyapastoral.com.au/
3. Confirm successful upload by visiting http://www.hoyapastoral.com.au/googleace5604dca2e17d9.html in your browser.
4. Click Verify below.

I have downloaded the verification code (google-site-verification: googleace5604dca2e17d9.html) and put it the header section of the publishing page and uploaded it. However, when I check that the upload was successful (step 3) it states that it was not found (in addition to a 404 error) - See attachment. Any ideas?

You need to upload the verification file to the root folder on the server using an FTP application.

If you use the meta tag verification, that can be placed in the Head Code box.
