News page that client can update?

User: Damon Z. 8 years ago
Hey!

I've made a web page for a client.
On the first page is news... It would be great if the client could post news there themselves without having to ask me to update it every time.

What is the best way to achieve this?

The only way I can think of is to use a third-party service that you can embed, and you both can access. Then they can log into that service, update the listing, and it will update where it is embedded.
Maybe look into creating an RSS feed that they can handle. Then all you need to do is embed and they create all the content that is fed to the feed.

Yeah, was thinking some blog-like service that was possible to embed. I know nothing about RSS feeds and stuff like that though :/

Whether you update the news section or the client does, it should be created as a separate page which can be updated on its own and embedded in the site using an iframe.

The simplest way would be for the client to create the page in EverWeb and upload it to the hosting account.

The alternative is to create the page using Google's Blogger and one of their responsive templates. There are a couple of widgets that are suitable for this which create a scroller or full width scroll frame which will also work when the site is viewed on tablets.
