123-reg publishing

User: Mark P. 10 years ago
Hi.
I've recently come over from iWeb and have been happy with the way I can build my site using everweb.
However, I've followed all the publishing instructions and nothing is happening!
I host my sites on 123-reg.
I've gone through all there recommended setting and still nothing!

On the Everweb publishing page, a progress bar pops up but then disappears with now change in it and the word publishing is still at the top left corner.
Please someone help, it's taking longer to publish the site than it took me to build it and starting get very frustrated!!!
Cheers.

Hi Mark,

Sorry for the problems you are experiencing.

Do you have the correct FTP details including the directory/path from your web hosting company?

Are you using the secure FTP option? Only use this if your web host supports it.

We have more trouble shooting steps for FTP Publishing here

Thanks Paul.
I'm getting the message saying it's been published now (which is good) but click on the 'go to the website' button and it's still my old site....
Checking all the settings on 123-Reg tomorrow!
Thanks for reply though.

If you keep getting our old site, try refreshing the page a few times and empty your cache from browser. It may help.

You should;

1. Delete your old website by logging into your FTP server and deleting the html files or ask your web host to do it

2. If you are looking in Google for your site it may be linking to an older web page that is still on your server. You can delete it as noted above. With EverWeb + Hosting you can use the redirect feature to even redirect your old website to your new site

3. If you are typing in your URL make sure you look at the path bar and didn't enter a path to an older page on your site.

4. Ask your web hosting provider if they are caching your pages

5. Make sure you have the right directory/path entered in EverWeb's FTP settings when publishing.

Thanks Paul and Jim.

Well, it looked like the problem was indeed due to the directory path!
Emptied my old website files to be on the safe side!

Thank you again, it makes a refreshing change to find good customer support!
Cheers.
Mark
