This is not a EverWeb issue, probable security issue. I have an HTML snippet I would like to use that shows webcam and current weather condition on my weather station. ------------------------------ <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /><title></title></head><body><object width="290" height="300"><param name="movie" value="http://www.wunderground.com/swf/pws_mini_rf.swf?station=KGADAHLO8&freq=2.5&camurl=http%3A%2F%2Ficons.wunderground.com%2Fwebcamramdisk%2Fn%2F4%2FN4KHQ%2F1%2Fcurrent.jpg&units=english&lang=EN" /><embed src="http://www.wunderground.com/swf/pws_mini_rf.swf?station=KGADAHLO8&camurl=http%3A%2F%2Ficons.wunderground.com%2Fwebcamramdisk%2Fn%2F4%2FN4KHQ%2F1%2Fcurrent.jpg&freq=2.5&units=english&lang=EN" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="290" height="300" /></object></body></html> --------------------------------- The snippet is on the following page has the HTML snippet above included under weather station line right middle of page. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10068452/Web/Pete_%26_Dee%20%28Old%29/index.html Safari on OS 10.11.2 when run as a file asks to use flash and loads. If you use the https:// link above on Safari, Chrome, or Firefox the snippet does not execute and there is only white space. XP and Internet Explorer 8 will run the link and show the snippet. FireFox on XP will not show the snippet. Is there anything I can change on the snippet to fix the problem. I got the snippet from Weather underground. They have snippets without graphics that work fine. Thanks |

HI Jarvis, 1. The code you are using here is not proper HTML code that should be used in a HTML Snippet since you are including HTML doctype declarations and body tags. You should only be using this code; <object width="290" height="300"><param name="movie" value="http://www.wunderground.com/swf/pws_mini_rf.swf?station=KGADAHLO8&freq=2.5&camurl=http%3A%2F%2Ficons.wunderground.com%2Fwebcamramdisk%2Fn%2F4%2FN4KHQ%2F1%2Fcurrent.jpg&units=english&lang=EN" /><embed src="http://www.wunderground.com/swf/pws_mini_rf.swf?station=KGADAHLO8&camurl=http%3A%2F%2Ficons.wunderground.com%2Fwebcamramdisk%2Fn%2F4%2FN4KHQ%2F1%2Fcurrent.jpg&freq=2.5&units=english&lang=EN" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="290" height="300" /></object>2. Just like your youtube issue you are trying to load http content and an https server. That won't work. Wherever you are getting the flash file from, check to make sure you can access it using https and then change the url to start with https instead of http You cannot access unsecure (HTTP) content on an secure (HTTPS) site. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

| Best support ever and it's Christmas, Saturday, and not and EverWeb problem. When I pasted Paul's code in iWeb HTML snippet or EverWeb HTML snippet and applied, it just showed text. I used the original code posted above and added s to the html links. Works perfect, now. The click to run Flash is an apple security thing. I think apple is putting that on by default now in Safari. The user has to turn click to load flash off or click, not a problem. Thanks so much. | |
