Navigation menu displays differently on different browsers,

I have a navigation menu of 4 items: Home, Exhibitions, Biography and Contact on Google Chrome and Safari it displays properly, all four items on a line in Firefox and something else (opera maybe) the line breaks and Contact appears on a second line why does this happen and what can i do to prevent it? Firefox tends to display fonts a little bigger than the webkit browsers. Make the navigation widget a little wider to compensate.
