Audio Widget (Basic Everweb one) moving volume bar off playbar...

User: Lena Arice L. 10 years ago
Volume bar used to be just to the right of the speaker icon on Everweb's basic Audio Widget on the playbar.

Now it's floating below and looks bad...

It's squirrely.

Sometimes it's in place on smart phones, sometimes not. Sometimes okay on desktops..., sometimes not.

When dragging the Widget into the page, sometimes the volume bar is in proper place... sometimes not. Maddednig.

Sometimes some of them are correct but others, not, on same page, looking bad...

I have deleted offending widgets and replaced them to success sometimes, to failure others...

What gives?

Ideas?

See image.

It sounds as though you have some conflicting styles on the pages where the player goes "squirrely".

This can also happen if you mix audio player widget types on the same page.

It would be helpful if you could post the URL to a page where the player is not appearing as it should.

Thanks Roddy.

I am only using one Audio widget on the page. The basic Audio widget that comes with Everweb software.

Today, the entire site's Audio widgets look fine on my iPhone...

But now wrong in entire site when viewed on my desktop.

Here's a page as example (if you view on desktop vs iPhoneiPad).

(P.S. Liking your Menu widget you developed...)

Thanks again,
Lena

Purely 2 guesses on my part.
1. Too many Audio Players on one page.
2. All the Audio Players are preloading.
My guess is that it is a combination of the 2. A lot of resources are being used to load them. I have found that too many of a Video widget on a page can make things go wonky. Plus Roddy has warned about this in the past.
You also have 4 warnings about Audio Players on that page, and those issues could be helping to make things unstable.
If you don't know how to see warnings/errors on a site, I would be happy to tell you how.

What browser are you using when you see this behavior?

Jim is quite right about the preload thing. If you must use preload, only do so for the first player. THIS WIDGET prevents preload by default.

The warnings are for a few items in the player CSS file and shouldn't be a cause for concern.

Using Safari.

Worked fine 2 months ago. Worked for years... Didn't matter about pre-loading. Volume bar was properly positioned on audio player. Still is, on iPhone, but not desktop... Have same site build for all devices, so not issue.

Have not added hardly any more audio players to pages, even page with only one audio player has problem.

If anyone has a non-Safari browser, let me know if it looks off there too, pleas: http://www.millerstalemusic.com/buried-treasure.html

I have some your other audio widgets, Roddy, so will play around with them before I buy more...

Thanks guys!

This is nuts, but just now it has had another miraculous healing. Oh well, I'll ask again if it flips out again...

Nevermind. Some are off, others not (they were all fine briefly).

I have not seen any issues when viewing using Safari, Firefox, or TOR browsers. Firefox and TOR both stop preloading for me.
I was looking at Audio Widgets that Roddy offers when I first saw this thread, and found some that look like they can handle multiple tracks. If those will work for you, they will save a lot of space on pages.
