Yes, I read about this topic here in the forum before but nothing described there helps.... I created a whole new website with EW 1.9.0 Build 1440 and then I took the "publish whole site" function and EW published the whole website to my host via FTP. Works. Then, after changing just some text and then choosing the "publish changes only" it still uploads ALL files of the whole website AGAIN, NOT the changes only... and it tooks a long time to this again again... it costs a lot of unnecessary time. I tried this different times, every time it uploads the whole website with every file in it, even if they are not changed in any way. ------- MAC OS X 10.7.5 EW 1.9.0 Build 1440 |

Hi, yes I have installed the official release version EW 1.9.0 Build 1440 , not Beta. Maybe this works for everweb itself webhosted sites only and not for external websites like mine via FTP. Last edit 10 years ago |

| OK have a check for an update as 1444 came out afterwards... and do you get the same problem if you create a test site and publish? Or if you publish to a folder then make changes and publish again to folder to see if works the same or differently to FTP? | |

Thanks, I will try this out. But I don't get an option to update, ist says that my version is the newest I can get. I'm downloading the new build right now, simple "update" inside my everweb does not work. Last edit 10 years ago |

I have installed the new build 1444 right now. Publishing to a local folder on my computer works normal. Only the changes are "uploaded" to my local folder and this works reallly fast. When changing more things it takes more time and when changing e.g. text only it is done nearly immediately. The status of what changes and uploads are in progress is shown in everweb. When publishing via FTP to the external server all files are shown there even the ones not changed.. and are uploading completely. So unfortunately no changes with the new build. Quote: When publishing via FTP to the external server all files are shown there even the ones not changed.. and are uploading completely. So unfortunately no changes with the new build. Are you sure it doesn't say "Skipping file..."? EverWeb ensures that all files are on the server so it checks to make sure all the files are there, but only actually publishes the ones where the modification date on the server is earlier, or the file size is different. Basically it ensures your entire site online has all the latest files. The only reason I can think of where this wouldn't work is if your web hosting provider does not have the server set up correctly so the last modified date is not being sent to EverWeb properly. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |
