Looks like my Windows PC on a bad day... :-) Upgraded the iMac to El Capitan yesterday and EW 1.8.2 (1407) is struggling. Several times the program has crashed taking everything down with it. All icons on the desktop disappeared and a power off/on was the only solution. So far there's nothing that seems common - it's all random and fairly rare. Paul - Is EW okay with El Capitan? There is no way for me to know what the issue is without seeing that. Also, it doesn't sound like something totally related to EverWeb based on your description of what is happening.
