Cookies advising banner

User: Giorgio O. 10 years ago
Because of the actual European laws, I need to add to all the pages a banner which advises any visitor that the site owes cookies; the banner should contains 2 buttons, one linking to a privacy page, the other to approve the cookies; then it should definitively disappear when the visitor accepts the cookies (until he clean the browser cache).
There are many scripts to set up such a banner: I tried to edit the html codes of the EW pages but whenever I save the page many blocks come white; I enclose two pictures to better explain. Where am I wrong? (sorry, neither able to post a picture.. :-(( please link here http://www.giftboxitalia.com/editing_html.jpg)

1. Clearing the cache does not remove cookies.

2. To display images, use the Image button.

3. To make clickable links, use the URL button.

4. Since the image is useless, why not provide a clickable link to the page with the cookiebanner.

Just a problem with Firefox 41, it crashed when attempting to upload the image...

1. You're right but here it's almost 8PM and I am hungry...
2/3. it seems I can only reply without quoting, do not understand what's happening with this update of Firefox...
4. here a link the banner is on the top

My question was also why editing the html code any page appears that way

(why the URL is not visible?) better to put it in plain text ... http://www.esseeffe.com/
Go to eat now.... very very hungry..

While you were struggling, I searched for cookie scripts.

Found this one :

https://silktide.com/tools/cookie-consent/download/

You beat me too it, because you use the same code.

It works for me, and it works on your site.

And for those who want to use it, copy the generated code and paste it in the Header Code Box of the Site.

... finally I ate and now everything is more clear! Thanks a lot Jumbo now the banner is on a test page and it works fine.

There is only an unanswered question regarding the reason why the pages change their shape when editing the html code in any web editor.... hope somebody can explain...
Have a great weekend!
