Viewing Slow and unresponsive

Slow and unresponsive

User: Tony H. 10 years ago
The scrolling through EW is very slow and sometimes unresponsive. I have added pictures to the Image Gallery and converted them to web resolution but when i try to reorder them or scroll up and down the page to see the images EW is very slow or unresponsive. I am not running an old mac i have a 'retina 5k' and is only a few months old.

EverWeb may be slow if you have alot of huge images in your image gallery. But once you scroll once it caches these images so it will be faster the next time, unless you switch pages.

Keep in mind that the resolution is only one factor of the size of the image. The height/width can also cause a slow down. Look in your Assets list for the file size of the images. Images that are more than a few MB will start to cause slowness.

You really shouldn't have images that are more than 1MB in size though.

In future versions of EverWeb we will have a feature to resize the width/height of images.

Ok so I have just spent the past couple of hours converting all my images to under 1mb and removed all the images that were in my assets list with the smaller size and have removed all the images of the website. i have now started to replace these with the new smaller images and i still have the same problem!!!

Can you contact customer support and reference this forum post?

Perhaps you have a gradient set as your page background? If you have a long web page and are using background gradients, EverWeb has a lot of graphics to draw so it could be slow. These are just guesses though, I don't have any way to know what the issue is without seeing a project file.
