Viewing My Everweb Storage Keeps Increasing

My Everweb Storage Keeps Increasing

User: John E. 10 years ago
Irrespective of how much I delete from my web site and how many assets I delete. my storage keeps increasing. I recently deleted five pages of photo albums (and their assets), but storage didn't decrease even one byte! My website project file is 895MB, but my Everweb storage is shown as 1.79GB. Why is that, and how can I get that storage figure to correspond with the size of the file.

Also,I have noticed if I l view the application as a package (Show Package Contents), I see a huge numbers of old files (files I have deleted from the assets) that are identified a "conflicted" files. Can I delete these files? Additionally, there are old files appearing there that have been deleted from the Assets. Can I delete these files?

I've attached a screen shot showing some of these files.

Hi John,

Right now we'd have to delete the entire site from your server and have you republish your site. We're working on EverWeb being able to delete published files online but that is a complex problem and will slow down publishing.

Regarding looking in your project files, those conflict files are because you have your project on dropbox and you were editing your site at the same time. You can delete them.

You may not want to delete the other XML files because you may lose data if you delete the wrong files.

Assets that you delete from the Assets list are removed from the project file though.

If I delete the "conflicted" files and other outdated items, will I recoup any space? I'm probably going to run out of space this month, otherwise. What I'm experiencing is that deletions don't reduce the size of my project file, and when I replace a file with another of the same or smaller size, the size of my project just increases.

Also, you note that "assets that you delete from the Assets list are removed from the project file...." That isn't happening. For example, all of the DaryFarm jpgs shown in my original attechment I removed from the Assets list some time ago. They don't show up in mt Assets list, but there they are in the project.

How about this? I'll remove all the conflicted files and other outdated stuff. If that doesn't reduce the size of the project, I'll then ask you to delete my entire site from the server; and when you tell me to do so, I will then republish the site.

I'm running v 1.8.2.

You will recover file space from your project file but not from your server. Your files on your server are separate from your project file.

Deleting anything in your project file, won't delete what is on the server.

If you want to remove files from your server you can contact support and we will delete all files on your server. Then you republish your site. Any delete items, even if they are still in your project file, won't be published. So you will save a lot of space on your server by doing this.

Okay, obviously I'm going to have you delete all the files from my server. How do I do that?
