Unusual question

User: Jesse M. 10 years ago
I run a webstore that sells products that have a very long processing period (they are all handmade). Each customer receives an order number when they purchase, which is basically their number in line. Then their number reaches 0,their product is created and then shipped. The waiting period can take 4-6 months, and the customer periodically emails or calls to ask what their current number in line is.

My question: Is there any sort of html code, or a site that I can integrate into my webstore that would let the customer check on their order status without contacting us? Basically, the code would be a number countdown that reduces based on a value that I input, and would be able to have a database large enough to hold a few hundred order numbers. For example, a customer might receive order number 089...each week that number would reduce by about 6 until it reaches zero...I would need something they could log into to check to see what their current number is. Any thoughts? I know this is a very random inquiry but it would be great if there was something that existed like this.

I don't know of anything that exists to do this already.

You could get someone to make a custom script to do this for you and it could be integrated with EverWeb. You can check out a site like https://www.upwork.com/ to find a developer to make something like this for you.
