Here's the note I got from EW support: "Additionally regarding your later crashes, please note that EverWeb can access a total of 3GB of operational memory. I would recommend you to save, close and re-open your project from time to time to lower the amount of operational memory taken by the project. I apologize for this inconvenience." So I do as suggested.... still NO JOY! I'm ready to throw this off a bridge. Does that suggest I cannot create a web site over a certain number of pages? Tell me now so I can get some sweet relief and leave this planet! |

Sounds typical for an app. Web browsers (safari, chrome etc...) can get gobble up a gig of ram after just a bit of browsing. If your running a system with only 2 or 4 gigs of ram it wouldn't surprise me if EW or any other app. slows down or even crashes. "Does that suggest I cannot create a web site over a certain number of pages?" No. The size of your project does have a bit to do with it, but that's not where it's all used. The app. uses memory to do things as your building your site ie.: giving you the ability to do multiple undo's and preview. It stores all that in the memory as you're building. @Kent: I have responded to your emails already. What you are quoting is a response from our first level support. I responded with specific of what the problem with your website is. Your text objects are too large. Any object should not be larger than 32000 pixels in height or width. 32000 pixels is VERY large. Although future versions of EverWeb will have a larger boundary for objects, this is the current situation for version 1.8.2. To fix your publishing issues please split up the text in your text objects so that they are smaller and no larger than a few thousand pixels. That will provide the optimal performance of usability with EverWeb but also for your visitors in terms of how much text and objects are in each page. And there is no limit on the number of pages you can add to your website. Last edit 10 years ago ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

| As far as memory goes, for anyone on a mac; when I started using a mac I wondered why it would crawl every so often. I looked it up and found out about it gobbling ram and filling cache. I got a simple app from the app store called Memory Clean. It sits in the top bar and I can monitor it and clear memory when I want/need. It has taught me a lot about how mac operates and how to avoid memory crawl. | |

Yep! I use one called "Dr. Cleaner" . The only thing that I would caution users about is do not flush your ram while using an app. like EW you can lose things from the cache that will make EW and probably other apps. not work right.
