Favicon not displaying in Safari 8

Selected both a .jpg and .png file type (Choose favicon). Neither type display in Safari 8.0 (Yosemite) Mac 10.10.4. Am I doing something wrong? Or is this a bug? BTW the Everweb home page doesn't display a Favicon either. |

Favicons should be in the .ico format. Convert your image online.

Thanks Roddy Files Converted fine. But the drop down CHOOSE command does not see the .ico files in the assets menu. (They are listed in the EXTERNAL FILE section by default.) There is no method of selecting the .ico file that I can see. What am I missing? |

EW creates the favicon.ico for you. Type this in the browser address field : http://www.mydomain.con/favicon.ico It should display. Assuming it was created of course with the right version.
