I was looking at my SEO score in seositecheckup.com and saw that I'm missing some Image alt text. I have checked all my images and the have all the alt, except the text witch we can save as an image. Can this be added in a future version? |

It would be even better if the text that is being converted into an image could be the alt text.

Well not really I prefer the freedom of being able to name a alt text like I want. A alt text is just a short description. If you convert a long piece of text like terms and or something you don't consider important then you at least can optimize it for the seoscore. |

Maybe having both options would be best? Something like two radio buttons: (1) Custom Alt Text (your suggestion) or (2) Text as Alt Text (my suggestion). The only reason I bring up my suggestion is for the following reasons from WebAIM: Alternative text serves several functions: • It is read by screen readers in place of images allowing the content and function of the image to be accessible to those with visual or certain cognitive disabilities. • It is displayed in place of the image in browsers if the image file is not loaded or when the user has chosen not to view images. • It provides a semantic meaning and description to images which can be read by search engines or be used to later determine the content of the image from page context alone. Saving text as an image is not exactly good web design practice and was used in apps like iWeb to overcome their inability to allow the user to use non web safe fonts. If you really must use a text image, create it in a DTP app and insert it in the usual way or with a widget. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! I totally agree with Roddy, but for the rare need of saving the text as an image with the built in function in EverWeb (which I don't love), it would be helpful if we could insert alt text for it.

Text images are not good for SEO nor for page download efficiency. If anybody feels the need to turn text into an image they should post an example of the text to find out if there is a way to create the same thing using HTML and CSS.

I agree 100% with you, and I don't use text images, but for the people that do use them, it might be helpful if they could have alt text for the image. Although the best option, as you said, would be if they learned how to create it with HTML and CSS, instead of an image.
