Video won't work with 1.8

My Everweb videos won't work with version 1.8. Worked with previous version. Any thoughts?

Can you explain in more detail what happens when you try and use video? Is this online or in preview? What web browsers? What error messages are you getting, if any?

When I upgraded to 1.8 my video widgets looked different. The image disappeared. All that's left is a black bar. I clicked on it but nothing plays. I've included a blog link (the video is at the bottom on the entry):

The link to the video file is the absolute path to the local file on your Mac.

file://localhost/Users/jking/Library/Application%20Support/EverWeb/BC4C2DE038FF4913874399CA21DC9F6C%20copy.everweb/Assets/External%20Files/IMG_1216.mp4//file

... instead of the relative path to the file in ewExternalFiles.

Another user has had the same problem with audio when updating to V1.8. I have tried to replicate this but can't.

There is a problem with the Video player in 1.8.

We have already fixed this issue for 1.8.1 and will post a beta version here in a few hours under the Announcements tab.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Video not working with 1.8.1. The photo returned to the video widget window, but after publishing, when I click to play, it shows a swirling circle. The photo doesn't show either. See it here:

It is saying that the video file cannot be found. Can you check your assets list to make sure that it is there under External Files?

You need to open the page in EverWeb and allow the widget to refresh - or force it to do so.

Did you read what Paul wrote in the release notes?
- A fix for the video widget not working (make sure to make a small change to any page that uses the video widget so that it will be republished OR republish your entire site)

If you don't see the green refresh arrow appear in the widget when the page is open in EverWeb, force a refresh by dragging the video widget slightly wider and then do a command + z to undo the change. You should then see the widget refresh and the page file name in the left column should indicate that the page has been updated.

Paul, my video still does not work. I followed all these instructions. Even re-imported video. Published entire site. Still looks the same (click on video and ongoing circle . . . and no image appears in widget).

My videos also do not work in 1.8 but worked in previous versions. Now both on the web and in the preview version, there are no images at all. I cannot find any downloads of 1.8.1 beta mentioned above. This is a serious problem -- please help!
