Using full width in the header of a masterpage

Creating blank masterpage in EW 1.8. Header and Footer 100px, body 1000px, 960px width. Dragging a shape into the header with the 'command' and giving that shape 100px height with full width and make it 'fixed position'. Now I can drag that shape anywhere I want, even out of the header without the command-button????! I make a 'fix position' of that shape and give it a y0 - full width - 100px height (like the measures of the header is made). Using this masterpage on a new blank page and putting some items on that page goes very well. Scrolling in EW for testing the fixed position asks a lot of 'place above/behind' before all items goes under the fixed position of the header. Once this job is done it goes very nice. But in the EW preview, it goes wrong. Some items goes above the header, others under, etc. This happens only with the header, not with the footer. Published entire site to server: same problem. Clear cache etc. Same result. After that, I made a new blank page without the masterpage and created the header again with the same items and settings. As far I tested this page, everything seems to be working. For me, working with a masterpage is a very handy and powerfull feature of EW. I don't know someone is having the same problem. Maybe I'm doing something completely wrong. Last edit 11 years ago ------------------------------- Kind regards, Raphael Pairoux |

Quote: Dragging a shape into the header with the 'command' and giving that shape 100px height with full width and make it 'fixed position'. Create a fixed shape and then resize EverWeb. You'll see it will appear outside the bounds of your content margins. It would be impossible to not allow it to be dragged anywhere. Does that make sense? I see you have a support ticket. We will help you there with your website display issues. In the future, remember to post your website URL so I can investigate your page online to try and locate the issue. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |
