I know these seems like a beginner topic, but believe me it is an issue. I am an experienced EverWeb (and iWeb before it) designer, with a growing business.

As I work through lots of new sites, I realize that way too much time is spent trying to get text to line up and render where it is supposed to. I primarily use Google Fonts.

I get everything lined up, looking perfect, and it renders all slipped and skidded across Safari, Chrome and FF. IE is a whole other issue too!

Is this normal? Is it do to different fonts having unique space attributes, or are there some unwritten rules I need to study?

Trying to keep to text live vs. "exporting as an image" as much as possible, as this has caused weird results too. Or should I use this option and add the text in the SEO page description?

Please help, business is really growing strong, and I need to be able to complete and test sites faster.

THANKS!

Can you post the URL to an example page and state exactly what the problem is?

Thanks Roddy:) Here's a simple example, setting up a logo so that is sits exactly where it looks like its sitting in EW, but always renders in a different spot. http://www.appletreelandscapes.com In this case its finally lined up the same, but it takes forever going back and forth and without rulers, it can really eat up time. Trying to understanding how all of the variables that affect positioning text in a text box, relative to how it renders. Is it different every time based on the font? Wish I had some rules for consistency.

Have you tried using a master page to set up your header, navigation, footer and any other items that are common to every page?
