Hi, Newest of the newbies here (no real coding experience). I'm trying to have images enlarged to a goodly size when using slide show. As it is, the images are TEENY. I'd like them to be a lot larger (like they are on iWeb). Any help greatly appreciated! |

When you publish your site you will be able to click it to see the larger image. You can also use the Preview feature in the toolbar for testing. Basically the photo enlargement only works when previewed or published. Hope this is what you are referring too. Let me know if you need more info. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

Are you referring to the Image Gallery or the Image Slider? A lightbox gallery will usually expand the images up to their maximum size or as a preset percentage of the viewport. See this page for info about preparing the images for a slider. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Thanks for the replies. Yes, Roddy, I want to have the images be LARGER than the images in the slideshow. Lightbox seems it might do the trick. Thanks! |

Well, Lightbox Gallery does the trick. Sort of. Some of the images blow up to a large size (yay), others, teeny. I KNOW it's something that maybe I'm overlooking, but what? I'd like all images zoom large from thumbnail to gigundo. Also, what on earth does "Alt text for SEO" mean? Is there an instruction sheet for Lightbox Gallery? It seems that this would be less a waste of everyone's time if I could just RTFM, yes? (but thanks in advance for your help!) |

If you want an image to expand to a certain size in the lightbox you need to insert a bigger image. If you import an image at 300px wide, that's the width it will be displayed at. If it was displayed at say 1500px wide, the quality would be fairly aweful. On the other hand, if you import an image at 3000px wide and it is displayed a browser that is set at about 1000px wide, that's overkill and the file size would noticeably slow the page download time. Find out more about Website Images. Quote: what on earth does "Alt text for SEO" mean? While its possible to create a website using an app like EverWeb and know virtually nothing about web design, you can create a lot better one that will be found by search engines if you you take a little time to learn the basics. The search engine spiders cannot look at the images, watch the movies or listen to the music so the webmaster has to describe them using text. Take any web page, remove all the photos, music and videos and that's what the spiders are left with to index. Alt text is the first basic requirement for getting your images indexed by search engines and also to describe the image content in case the image file doesn't load. Keywords should be inserted in the image file name and the alt text attribute. Using HTML5 we can improve this substantially by inserting images in a figure element with a figcaption. I have seen people struggle for days trying to insert a slider into a webpage using software like iWeb. With an EverWeb widget, the same thing can be achieved in minutes. Until now, I haven't had anybody request more instructions. Anybody who has problems understanding and using a widget can contact me for help. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb!
