Published changes don't show on site or preview

User: Brian D. 11 years ago
When I did our school website it was sometimes crucial that any mistakes were corrected asap. I just edited, saved, published and remembered to update browser and hey presto - instant edit! Now I've retired and working on my personal website, although not as urgent, I still find it frustrating when I spot a typo and can't seem to get the saved and published correction to show, (either on site, local browser or preview. Am I missing something here?

Yes, a clickable link to the page. With an explanation of what should be there, but isn't.

When you correct a typo in a text box, you need to deselect the box by either selecting another object or clicking on free space for the change to take place. You will then see the red dot appear next to the page file name in the left column.

Other than that, it may be a browser cache issue which you can overcome by hittimg the refresh button a few times.

Thanks Roddy - I think the browser caching was confusing the issue by causing some delay, (and I did already understand the need to refresh), but certainly I wasn't always taking care to deselect box before saving and this may have been the problem. Thanks for this advice - now it seems to update my edits ok.
Your help much appreciated.
Cheers!
