Some things that are missing that iWeb has

Why can't I Cut & Paste by holding down the Control Key like in iWeb?
Why can't I just add a video from my computer like a Youtube file that I downloaded like iWeb?
After I add a Youtube file, why can't I chose where the video starts and stops like iWeb?
Why can't I chose a Poster Frame from the video to show like iWeb?
Why is all this stuff missing? I'm very disappointed in this!

Is kind of strange that they disabled the "control Key" I've noticed it other places in the app too.. People who are new to Mac OS don't remember that it was a useful tool! Damn those multi button mousers!

You can choose a video off your computer and choose a poster frame. Using Roddys "MP4 Video" widget.
I would rather have YouTube host my videos...

It has so much more to offer for the positive compared to iWeb than the few things you're talking about... After years of using iWeb I'm fine with everweb..

That looks like a bug that I will look into. You can right click or double tap in the meantime.

You can, but you need to use the video widget. But keep in mind that iWeb added them as QuickTime (.mov) videos that are only compatible with Apple devices and some Windows computer, but only a small minority. You need to use .mp4 now if you want your movies to play everywhere.

As for the other suggestions, we are working on adding those features to the Video Widget and should have them added shortly.

mp4 is not as widely supported as many like to think. Firefox and Opera have trouble handling it, even with HTML5. Apparently the browser company needs to pay a royalty for each browser download to support mp4, Firefox may pay again this year, nobody knows. Chrome was not set up to run mp4 but does; and now that Chrome is integrated into Firefox, mp4 plays on some systems

Like the EverWeb default widget, the MP4 Video widget uses the media element JS to provide MP4 playback with flash fallback for browsers that don't support the MP4 format. This includes some versions of Firefox and older versions of Internet Explorer.

The difference between the default widget and the MP4 Video widget is that the latter loads a poster image and is set to prevent the video file from loading on page load. This means that the page will download faster in the browser since the video won't load until the visitor hits the play button.

I don't remember iWeb having this function for YouTube videos.
This could be done with the Quicktime player but it is bad news for web page download efficiency since the whole video file needs to download even although just part of it is played.

I guess some former iWeb users don't realise how dated it is now and inefficient it was in its prime. Many of the techniques that iWeb used - and people are requesting in EverWeb - are not appropriate to web design. Just because Apple did it, doesn't mean to sat it's right - or the best way!

You can do this already. Format->Mask in the menu bar or from the Mask button the toolbar.
