Test, test, test!

Roddy's mantra could not be truer. Seeing my mobile site on my wife's outdated blackberry led me to go visit a local Future Shop and London Drugs and test my site on every available device that was onhand for demo. And guess what? In doing so, I identified a few problems that I didn't know existed. Most surprising however is the variance of colour representation on different platforms. I can't believe how some of my colours look on android and samsung devices. Way different than on iOS or OS X. Beyond that, I discovered overflow:hidden problems, viewport issues, and certain triangle characters that were both different in design and colour from iOS to android. This web making ain't easy!

Alright I've posted elsewhere concerning my other questions. Here's my last one. The unicode characters for 25B6 and 25BC are appearing differently on Android phones. Different sizes, different colours. How to correct? Can I add a fallback? I searched online for answers but this stuff is a little over my head.

This is what I'm seeing on a Samsung phone. The triangles should all be the same size and colour (white).

Yes for sure. Test test test. The browser chosen has something to do with displays as well. I stopped trying to make Firefox look good, it screws up for other browsers.
As for scaling, your mobile site looks great on my SGS4, until landscape, then it stays at same size. On my Nexus7 it is small.
My mobile site is 400 wide. It scales fine and displays fine on iphone 3, 3gs, 4, 5, 5s, Nexus7, SGS4, SGS3; but I do not have half the stuff you have on your site as far as widgets and whatnot.

Hey Jim, thanks for testing. What do you mean it is small on your Nexus? It doesn't scale to fit the width of the device in portrait mode? Or landscape mode? I asked somewhere else but did you add viewport code to your site's head box?

I have added no code to Head Box, it is blank.
on Nexus7 it is centered but takes about half the screen in portrait; in landscape it takes about one-third of the screen. I will try to put up a ss of it in a a bit (after I put grandmas eye back in).

Partially Browser, having trouble upping the images here, I will snd them to you. What I have found on Android is that some browsers are Desktop at heart, yet they search mobile and display Desktop sites unless forced.
