Direct to desktop site...

User: Steve 11 years ago
I noticed on many site including the EW mobile site there is a link to the (desktop site) on a mobile device.
Is there a way to do this easily in EW? Or do you have to have a special copy of your site on the server?

This is the link that it goes to...
http://www.everwebapp.com/?fullsite=true

thx

This is an easy one. If you have a mobile site, just add a text box or button or something and hyperlink it to your desktop site.

I did this initially. Then I removed it. If you build a good mobile site, why would you want people to go to your desktop version on their phone?

Yeah I'm not sure how that would work... The normal pages are set (in EW) to automatically forward to the mobile page. So it would just loop.

Paul has posted a solution to this somewhere in this forum which avoids looping. I forget what it is and I agree with Christopher that you should never send mobile phone users to a full site!

The solution is posted in the in the original post. Enter the URL you want to go to in Inspector->Hyperlink tab->External URL like this;

http://www.everwebapp.com/?fullsite=true

Where http://www.everwebapp.com/ is whatever URL you want to show the desktop site for.
