I had to reinstall all software on my macbook pro. I have everything backed up on an external hard drive. I can't find in Everweb anywhere that I can import an Everweb website. (or even the folder with my website contents) Is this possible or do I need to start recreating the entire website. :-( I publish to a folder on my computer. I thought maybe I could transfer the preferences from my backup over, but I can't locate the preferences on my hard drive. |

| I found the .everweb file from the library>application support>everweb folder to open from my backup. This did the trick. Just took a little while to figure it out! | |

| Adobe Golive 6 had this ability more than 12 years ago. I very much need this feature, but I suspect it will never appear. After thinking about it for a few minutes, I realize that there are business disincentives for having the feature. | |

After thinking about it for a few minutes, I realize that there are business disincentives for having the feature. Adobe Golive is/was a much more complicating program that was much more expensive than EverWeb. It was able to translate HTML back to a visual canvas. EverWeb doesn't include that functionality. Please make sure to backup your project file. We have built in features that let you do this and they can backup directly to a dropbox, icloud or google drive account without you doing anything (EverWeb Preferences->Backup) I don't know what you mean by "business disincentive" but EverWeb doesn't include all the things you can do with HTML and writing an HTML importer would be time consuming and very complex. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

| Backing up one's work is of course an appropriate response, but that's only one reason for wanting to import a site. The specific part of this that confuses me is that a site created by EverWeb cannot be imported by the same product. I'll let it go for now. Thanks for a great product. | |

Quote: The specific part of this that confuses me is that a site created by EverWeb cannot be imported by the same product. I can understand why this may be confusing but please remember that when a website is created in EverWeb it exports some things that could not be imported. For example, if you selected to export a text object as an image, there would be no way for EverWeb to import that to a text object. That is just one example, there are many more such as image shadows, frames, reflections, images that are optimized for a specific size etc... You can't possible re-import an entire exported site. I realize though that some form of HTML import may be useful but it's not something we can focus on at the moment unfortunately. I apologize if this is not what you want to hear.
