The Great thing about iWeb (that EverWeb misses)

Hey!

This is just a general observation/request/food for thought...

The thing that I really really loved about iWeb was that it truly was a one-stop-shop. For example, once you dragged a picture into it you could add colour corrections, filters and make an alpha channel/transperancy.

There were more things.

So far this doesn't seem to be the case with EverWeb, but I hope EverWeb will move in this direction.

So far EverWeb is very promising but it still misses on the things that really made iWeb great (to me).

(I'm still evaluating the software, but will buy it soon it seems, but i still sorely miss iWeb)

Give it time, I'm In the same position of waiting to purchase this software but I'm waiting for the blog facility to arrive.

Yes, it has promise and development seems to be going fairly quick. So I'm willing to bet on this horse.

But unless we users (I'm already a user, just waiting to pay until my first webpage is ready to be published) don't let them know what we want, chances are they take development into a direction we don't like...

This is a feature we are working on.

I'm curious how a blog widget is going to be better than implementing something like Disqus. The advantage of using a popular commenting application like Disqus is that many people have already signed up for it. If they want to add a comment to your site, they don't have to register a new account. Having to register or sign up before commenting usually turns me away.

I thought the Blog feature would be a full part of EW, not a widget. I would guess that Diqus or something similar would still be needed for comments; unless it will include that as well? Maybe a Diqus widget will be incorporated into EW?

Disqus is for commenting, not for blogging. So yes we are working on a better blogging system, but with EverWeb right now you can do a blog just as you did in iWeb. The only thing really missing is RSS feed.

A blog in EverWeb can be done easily with Master Pages and one content box. This is essentially how iWeb did it, they just had the blog entries listed on top of a single page.
