Not really. I would say your best bet, without spending a bunch of money, is if you own the images, put a Watermark on them so you can identify them later. I have come across photo sites that try to prevent image downloads, usually it means an extra click to get the Image |

In general, anything that is uploaded to the server can be downloaded. No matter what you do, anybody can get a copy your images with a screenshot. Watermarking is not really the answer as it detracts from the image. One way to discourage download is to include a caption in the actual image file It won't help for SEO but it will be a deterrent to those who want to copy it and let the human visitors know what the image is about. I use ImageWell for this. Visitors are also less likely to knock off an image if the quality is low. In other words, don't upload "retina" images. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Yes watermarking detracts from the image, but me and most I know will not grab watermarked images. If a not too bright person grabs a watermarked image and puts it on their site, it is easy to tell them to take it down. I use them near edge where they can be cropped out, but I am not worried about my images getting taken. On mobile you can use a DRM protection to prevent screenshots of images but there may be other things people want/need to screenshot. |
