How do I open a project file from Dropbox?

User: Kevin S. 11 years ago
On my home computer I built a site then by using the "show in folder" option I found the project file and dragged it to Dropbox. (im new to dropbox)

When I log in to Dropbox from my laptop the first screen shows a folder with the name of Website I built.
Within that folder is another folder. That folder has the same name of the project file.
When I open that folder there are three more folders, Assets, Master Pages, Website Pages and three files, assets.db, data.xml and info.xml.
None of these open Everweb and allow me to work on the site from my laptop.

Am I doing something wrong? I thought the project file would show up in Dropbox and all I would have to do is double click it and it would open in Everweb.

Thanks for any help

Make sure that EverWeb is installed on the computer you are trying to open the project on. All you need to do is double click on the .everweb file and it will open in the application.

Thanks for the reply. I was just going to post how I resolved the issue.

I did have Everweb installed on both computers. The problem was on the Dropbox side. Being new to Dropbox, I didn't realize that I had to download and install the Dropbox software on both my home and laptop computers. When I logged into Dropbox via their website I didn't see the Everware project files. After installing the Dropbox software on my laptop a Dropbox folder appeared in my Finder (Mac) and clicking Dropbox I saw the project file. Clicking on the file itself automatically opened the project in Everweb and I was able to work on and publish the site just like shown in the Everweb tutorial video.

Again, thanks for the reply ....
