I've just used the video widget for the first time. When I open my page on the iPad the rectangle where the video should display is shown only as a black box with a 'play' arrow. It's my understanding that no image shows up until the entire video loads. Having the entire video load slows down the page load and leaves a black box on the homepage until it's finished loading which could take 30 seconds. How about a poster image for the video that loads with the rest of the page, when you click on the image the video loads (hopefully staying ahead of playback). I see that 'Codebox' has that option on it's widget but with a few tweaks, the 'video' widget included with Everweb could be a lot better. It's interesting that on my Mac Mini, the video image shows up immediately but on the iPad it never does. I need to play the video in order to see any image. |
