EW Contact form ( What I've learned )

I've been using EW since the beta releases, and the contact form has been a much talked about function of EW. Personally I've found it non reliable and frustrating until I really did some trouble shooting, now I don't seem to have any problems with it. My set up... I host my own sites ( do not use EW's servers ). I have a main URL then sub-sites on that same server so my directory is basically /public_html which includes the files for my "main" url and the folders of my sub urls. I believe this is the standard way to do this with multiple sites on one server account. So my ew contact php files are contained within each site in their respective folders/directories pretty simple. I use an ftp app. called Transmit by panic software, not necessarily better than others or using ew to post I just like it and I'm used to it! After some trouble shooting I've found that there's nothing wrong with the way I'm posting it's just the way I was testing my contact form that gave me unreliable results. Three things MUST happen! 1. You have to actually publish the page before testing/use. 2. You have to use a real email address when filling out the form like a visitor would. Because it verifies the address... (which helps stop bots from filling out your form spam/junk). 3. You MUST reload the page each time before you re-test. If you don't reload, it will look like it worked, but won't... Hope this helps! What version of EverWeb are you using? You shouldn't have to reload the page after sending an email with the contact form. You do have to publish your site though.
