I did duplicate my english website and pasted it into the template folder to create a french version of it (process as described in the tutorial video) Unfortunately when I want to open the pages of the template in my newly created french website, it either : - create it but all images are disappearing right away, along with my header (including navigation menu) created with a master template... so I will have to redo the page almost fully - or it just say "can't open template". No directory for example will be able to be opened. Anyone with the same problem ? or with an alternative solution? Thanks ! |

If it is published, can you show me the URL? Quote: or it just say "can't open template". No directory for example will be able to be opened. Where and when does it say this? And what says this, EverWeb? What is the exact message you are getting and what are you doing at the time it comes up? Hi Paul, And thanks for your reply. The problem happens in Everweb, when I try to follow the instruction of the video to create a French website, after having creating the main, English version of the site. I am able to duplicate the original file (thanks to "show on disk", the copy option and the pasting into the template folder) as instructed. Then I open Everweb and click on "create a new website". It opens and then I can do File/ New page. The template window opens and I see my english website appearing in the list of the templates available on the left panel. I do click on my website template and I see all my pages and directory pages appears. I click on "home" (which exists in my english website and that I want in my french website too) then on "select". The new page is indeed created. On the left panel of Everweb the page "home" is now in the list and in the central part of Everweb I recognize the "home" page design I created for the english website. Yet after just a second or two after the page is created, all the images disappear and the interrogation mark in a blue square appears instead. I guess it means Everweb can't find the path to this pictures, but I don't know why and how to fix this. Now I try to create another page, that time a directory to be exact, I click on File/new Directory, Everweb says "chose a template form the list below", so I click on the directory page that I have created previously in my english website. Then an Everweb pop-up window says "can't open template". And the only thing I can do is click on "ok". Now I would like to (re) create the same master page I have created in my english website. So that I can create a new, specific page, for this French version website. So I click on File/ New Master Page and then... no master page exists in my website pages list. It's like if it's not the full folder that is available, but just the one as "published". And each time I try the same process for another page or directory page of my english website that appears in the template window, the same 2 problems happen. Hoping it will help you decipher the problem and tell me at least a workaround solution ? Thank you very much for your help. Hi Paul, I am surprise to see that my latest reply to you does not show up here :( I did reply to you a few days after your post, to confirm you it was fine for me to wait, just asking to get a notification when it was done. I can still wait another 2 weeks on this, it's okay. Actually I have another BIGGER problem today. I updated my mac to Yosemite in the last days and uploaded Everweb newest version. But now Everweb refuses to open my existing website project ! And I do have a very urgent update that is due today ! More Details here on what exactly happens : When I click on the everweb app, the software opens and shows the window project with my website properly listed. But when I click on my project name, the little sign showing the apps is working to open the file just turns and turns... and when finally it stops like if it was done... nothing happens. Like if the project was open, but no window shows up, nothing is visible. I have got the Everweb horizontal menu showing on the top of my laptop screen, but not the window of the software itself, displaying the content of my project... I just stare at my desktop, nothing else is there. In case there was a problem with the file path, I tried a trick : i right clicked on my project on the project window so to show its location on my disk. Then I duplicated it and put the copy of the file on my desktop. Then I went to Everweb "open" menu and pointed out to my file on the desktop, so to open that duplicated file... but same thing. Nothing happens, the file does not opens up. Nothing opens, nothing shows up. And unfortunately I don't even have an error message (or any other clue) giving me a hint on what to do to fix this problem.... I am wondering if the both updates (Maverick to Yosemite) and Everweb (previous version to newest version 1.7.3 build 1342) have something to do with. FYI I have no other problem since I update to Yosemite. Everything works fine... This is terribly urgent matter. I am hoping you can help you me very soon. Thank you very much Paul ! |

Hi Couple of things 1. It is probably best to open a new thread for this otherwise it gets buried in the other problem so no one sees the urgency. 2. Quick thought - have you tried to download the latest version of EW directly from the everwebapp website in case the version you have got corrupted. i have EW 1.7.3 on OX X 10.10 and all works fine! | Thank you very much Wellnl !! I did as suggested and you were right, the file downloaded previously was probably corrupted. After re-installing, I did succeed to open my website in the new version. It is still very slow, but it works, and my website update has been done. I am very grateful for your help. Cheers, Krys, | |
