Bring to front not working

User: darrendixie123456789 11 years ago
My updated site which should be ready to publish next week (currently using preview) has a fixed header which is made using an HTML snipped and some head code.

The code hides the header until the user scrolls past the normal header and nav at the top of the page. In order for this header to also show on top of everything else on the page, I have to make sure the snippet it is at the 'Front'.

Bringing it to the front doesn't always work and I have to go through all the other items below it and send them to the 'back'

Here is an old link to see the header in action: http://synergyschoolradio.com/news/index.html just scroll down to see it appear at the top.

Any ideas? I can work around it but sometimes 'bring to front' works, most of the time (for this particular snippet) it doesn't.

I should point out that it works fine in the example above. This page along side every other one on the site has changed and I am having trouble sending the snippet to the front on the last few pages. None of these are published yet. Just want to bring it to EW's attention that sending to front isn't working as expected/consistently.

Can you send a screen recording of what you are doing so I can take a look and either get it fixed or clarify the issue.

You can record your screen using Quicktime which is in your Applications folder. Open Quicktime and select 'New Screen Recording' from the File menu.

Once you are done, your recording will be on your desktop. Please upload the .mov file to http://youtube.com, http://ge.tt or http://www.dropbox.com and send me the link

No problem. I'm working at an exhibition today so time and Internet connectivity could be an issue... It'll be done by tomorrow if not.

This doesn't appear to be a bug in EverWeb. It is most likely related to the custom HTML code you are using in the HTML Snippet. It could be an error in your code.

Unfortunately it is impossible for me to debug it since I couldn't see the entire code. Currently we don't offer a service to debug custom code entered in the HTML Snippet.

I suggest you either find a widget that is already created to do what you need, submit a feature request to implement a feature to do what you need or post your code in the forum to see if another user can help you with it.

This kind of thing happens sometimes due to the fact that EverWeb wraps injected code in two divs with positioning info to allow you to drag stuff around.

I have emailed you a suggestion for a quick fix.
