Newspaper & magazine website design is completely different than almost any other website design. Creativity isn't nearly as important as format and the ability to constantly change the homepage while not changing it so much that it confuses the reader. After entering 'newspaper website design' in a search engine and looking at the image results I realized the site I was working on needs to be completely reformatted to a newspaper style. Accepted newspaper/magazine website design is very specific. Being creative and going outside tested working designs is risky. How about a 'newspaper/magazine' catagory of styles in a future update? Newspapers and magazines traditionally use column layouts. The rule width can be set to zero if not required. The layout and images section of the new HTML5 widgets site will give you an idea of how to create content blocks which visually separate various types of info but allow you to move them around without destroying the sense of the HTML document. Due to their structure, using these HTML5 elements will greatly improve the SEO.
