Directory Problem

Here's my latest daring maneuver... Create new directory Set page dimensions and delete all objects Drag existing page into the directory Return to directory page to find that it has returned to default Reset page dimensions Copy 5 items from the existing page - two in the content and three in the footer Paste into new directory All appear into the footer and the footer height is stretched from the original 50px to over 700px. This change does not register in the Metrics inspector. Undo removes the pasted objects but does not restore the page dimensions. Entering a 50px footer height in the Metrics inspector doesn't restore it. If I take the sub page out of the directory everything goes back to normal. The first time I tried all this the application crashed and a report was sent in. Now you are going to tell me that I shouldn't be so stupid as to think I can simply drag an existing page into a directory! ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Copying 3 items, from the footer only, pastes them into the wrong place and stretches the footer a bit. In this case it is possible to fix it.

Hi Roddy, I can't seem to reproduce this. A video would be very helpful here. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

I have emailed a download link for a movie showing the first 4 steps in this scenario. I didn't bother boring you with the rest since they may be have been caused by the initial step of dragging an existing page into a newly created directory.

Hi Roddy, Thanks for the video. What actually is happening is that when you start the drag, any changes made to the selected page aren't being saved. That is why it reverts back to the original page. To fix this in your version, click off the working page first and then drag it ( let go of your mouse once before starting the drag). In any case, it has been fixed for the next beta version. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |
