EW 1.6

I have a EW 1.6 FC5 version, when I open it and check for update I am told that the version is current. (It is Build 1284)
I know I have not downloaded the latest version. Could you please clarify?

It's because it is an FC version. You can just download from our website and delete the version you have.

Well, if it is the correct version why do I need to delete and download another one?

It's not the correct version, it's a final candidate version. A slightly earlier build. The official release may contain some last minute minor adjustments.

Download from THIS page if you want the latest release version.

Download from the forum Announcements section for beta versions.

There are quite a few forum topics about the consequences of using beta versions with published projects. I'm sure this will be made clearer in future betas.

At any one time I have at least two versions of EW . I always use the latest release for updating sites. I have several test projects for conducting wild, dangerous experiments and testing new beta features.

Every version of EverWeb is the same. It doesn't matter where you download it from. There is no free and paid version. The "free" version you are referring to becomes the "full" version when you enter your email and password in it.
Any version of EverWeb will open your existing sites. You don't need to import or do anything. You don't lose any work by updating.
