Viewing Mobile page redirect question.

Mobile page redirect question.

User: Simon C. 11 years ago
If I set up a redirect from my website main page to a mobile page and then include a link on the mobile home page to "view full site" will it just loop back to the mobile page or, in fact go to the full site?
I hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance. Absolutely loving everweb!

Try logic.

Where I live we have groups of people you can keep busy all day.

Enter the main page.
Redirect to the mobile page.
Click the link.
Go to the main page.
Redirect to the mobile page.
Click the link.
Go to the main page.
Redirect to the mobile page.
Click the link.
Go to the main page.
Redirect to the mobile page.
Click the link.
Go to the main page.
Redirect to the mobile page.
Click the link.
Go to the main page.
Redirect to the mobile page.
Click the link.
Go to the main page.

Solution : do not include the main page in the full site, and do not make a link to the main page.

There is a workaround post somewhere in this forum if you can find it!

I'm can't see why anybody would want to direct smart phone users to the full version of their site. It kind of defeats the point of creating the mobile version in the first place.

Most conventional sites aren't suitable for viewing on a tablet - far less a smart phone - when you take into account the basic guidelines concerning readability and user inputs. There's a discussion HERE that may interest you.

There's a section of the EverWeb Codebox website devoted to mobile design here…

http://everwebcodebox.com/mobile/features.html

Click the wireless icon to see the mobile demo site.

When your full size website is viewed on a tablet it should incorporate these features. Since the number of surfers using tablets is increasing c/w those on computers, why not design your site for iPad rather than desktop browsers?

You can do this by creating a new link that links to an External link (instead of one of my pages). Then add the URL of your website and add ?fullsite=true to the end of the url. For example if you website address was http://www.mydomain.com you enter enter;

http://www.mydomain.com?fullsite=true
