Viewing Galleria Add-on

Galleria Add-on

User: Bryan O. 11 years ago
Hi everyone,

I was recommended to use Galleria to display images on my gallery website. However, i am having a hard time installing it according to the instruction provided (http://galleria.io/docs/getting_started/beginners_guide/)

Is there anyone who has done this before? If yes, could you explain to me how to do it? I've succeeded to the part where the Snippet says Galleria works, but after that it doesn't work for me anymore.

I really appreciate your help.

The EverWeb Image Slider widget uses Galleria which would be a lot easier for you to set up.

However, there are advantages to inserting the code yourself. The main one is that you can use separate thumbnails rather than ones that are generated from the full size images. This makes the slideshow much more efficient and it will download in the browser much faster.

If you want to create a slider with separate thumbnails there is a widget here…

One thing you need to be aware of when inserting code that uses jQuery is that EverWeb uses jQuery V1.9 so, do not insert the link to jQuery that the Galleria instructions provide as this will potentially cause a conflict.

The main problem you face is that EverWeb doesn't allow you to add folders of assets. If you drag the Galleria assets into EverWeb, the control images will end up in a different folder from the CSS and JS files and break the slider. If you are publishing to a server other than the EverWeb one, you can create Galleria by publishing first to a local folder and add the assets. Then use relative links to the assets in the code boxes in the app.

If you are publishing to the EverWeb server, you would need to use the widget or find another slider or carousel.
