1.6fRC Bugs

User: Courtney H. 11 years ago
Several bugs popped up in v1.6f RC. Tested with Safari and Chrome.
1) Attachment one/two - this is a page about an artist exhibit. The 1.5 version shows what it is supposed to look like. The v1.6frc
has increased the font size for the bottom portion and turned the white font to black in the upper left.

2) The menu bug continues as shown in attachment three. Not every page. Affected 4 of 9 menus. The menus are all copy and paste to each page so there isn't any difference in the location, size or alignment.

Backed out of v1.6RC and republished the site using 1.5. All is well again.

I haven't actually tested V1.6 yet as I have been kind of busy with other stuff but I would be interested to see a published site with these errors if you have one. I don't think anyone has actually posted a URL to a page showing this navigation menu error.

The font changes look exactly like what happens sometimes when the browser cache isn't emptied or the latest version of the textstyles.css hasn't been uploaded.

Roddy -

The screen shots were taken from the live site before I rolled it back. Since it's a production site I wouldn't want to leave it up for long with problems.I agree with you on the font changes but it was viewed in Chrome/Safari in OSX and Chrome/Safari/IE11 in Win7. Reloads were done.
I suspect you're correct with textstyles.css not being updated.

If you want to try out new features on the beta versions it would be worth while creating a test project specifically for this. I have a few of these for testing out new ideas and widgets. I always launch one of these in a new beta before risking a site that is actually published. Unfortunately, none of my test sites have a version of the default navigation on them.

If you could post the 1.6 version in a subdirectory so I can take a look, that would be helpful in determining the problem.

Please let me know if that is possible.

I had no problems with the menu going vertical as I did in the previous version, and also had no problems with the fonts changing ... I have had a problem with a CR being ignored in the publish which I report in another thread...

Oh, tested in the latest version of Safari 7.0.6 (reset Safari just in case) and Firefox 31.0

Paul -
Published via v1.6RC to a subdirectory. Actually it looks okay now. If I hadn't captured those screen grabs I'd be wondering if I was delusional.

After you look at it - how do I wipe the sub? Just delete the entry from subdirectory location box?
