I'm using a drop-down navigation menu but when viewed on a tablet, when you tap the main menu item the drop-down doesn't stay in place to allow the sub-menu to be selected. Just dragging the finger down from the main menu over the sub-menu doesn't work either as the sub-menus immediately disappear and a new dialogue box appears offering other options like ''open in new tab' before you can select the sub-menu required. Am I missing something ? Given the number of visitors using tablets these days, I'd like to have the sub-menus working correctly in this format. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Tab S with android 4.4.2 and Chrome and the sub-menu won't stay open....... Martin |

As you know, mobile devices don't do hover. The problem you are having was fixed by Apple in iOS but hasn't been attended to in Android by Google. Nowadays, the number of website visitors using larger tablets are rising and those use desktops and laptops are falling so it's probably getting to the stage where we should forget about a conventional site and create one for large tablets and another for the smaller ones and smart phones. If you don't want to use code, a more practical solution would be to use two navigation menus - one for the directories and single pages and another for the pages within each directory. I used this solution on the iWeb for Musicians website which has over 200 pages.
