Problems with YouTube widget

Hi there I have wrestled with iWeb for some time and finally the time has come to transfer my rather large site to a new app - namely Everweb. I've already spent several hours and it's slow going though I am making progress. However I'm having problems and I was hoping you could help. My site has a lot of embedded videos which are hosted on YouTube. They have always worked fine in iWeb. However when I add the YouTube widget and then copy and paste the URL I get two problems: 1. The tail end of the URL text randomly appears below the bottom of the video box and I can't work out how to get rid of it. 2. The box is black and says 'Blocked Plug-in' I tried publishing the site to a folder (I don't want to put it online until it is finished!) and when I navigate to the page that way I get 'An error occurred. Please try again later'. And the same issue with the text appearing under the box. Can someone help me resolve these problems? Thanks in advance. |

Try entering just the ID number into the widget. I used this method when creating the YouTube Poster Image widget so you can see an example of what's required on THIS page. The other widgets are designed to play both Vimeo & YouTube so they use the full URL like this… http://everwebcodebox.com/widgetbox/media/vimeo-youtube-lightbox.html ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! | Thanks Roddy, but I want to change the frame size to make it fit the design of my site, so I think I need to put the entire thing in, don't I? | |

In that case you should paste the full embed code into an HTML Snippet rather than use the YouTube widget.

Well I seem to have solved the stray text problem but what about the blocked plug in? I have just installed the latest version of flash but still no joy. Thanks for your help |

Are you getting the blocked plugin in all browsers? Can you post the URL to the published page? ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! I'm having the same problem - using the YouTube Widget always displays a 'blocked plugin' message in the black box. If I proceed and enter the embed code from Youtube, then try to preview the page from everweb, I get the "try again in 30 minutes" message. I also tried entering the embed in the snippet widget - blocked again. The 'wait til later' message happens in all browsers. |

I googled this and found this discussion about it with a possible solution.
