Where do Everweb files park on the hard drive?

User: Tim S. 11 years ago
The Everweb application lives in my Application Folder and there is an alias button in my dock.

Where do the files themselves live?
I created one file upon launching the application but did not stipulate where it should reside.
I have been able to open it up and make changes so it has to be living somewhere.

Where would I find this on a brand new iMac?

The project file(s) are in the EverWeb folder which is in the Application Support folder in the User Library.

Any other suggestions where these files might live?
I have searched in APPLICATIONS SUPPORT FOLDER in the User Library and there is no apparent folder with any reference to Everweb.

I just found an option to include attachments.
(Not really sure why this an "advanced" option.)

Here is a screenshot of what I see when I click on Applications Support Window

Make sure you are looking the user library - not the system one. Depending on what version of OS X you are using, the user library may not be visible in the Finder Go menu unless you hold down the Option key.

I was still not able to locate the files within anything similar to Applications Support Window, even if I held down the Option Key.
(Am running OSX 10.9.4)

I was able, however, to locate the file by clicking on the arrow to right of file on the open screen. The arrow gave me the option to "Show on Disk"
I was able to drag a copy of the Everwebsite to Dropbox and am now launching in dropbox. Would be nice if I had the option to open the dropbox file by showing recent projects.

It's not an Application Support window - it's a folder. The Application Support folder contains the support files for lots of app. That's where they are stored by default and that's why EverWeb puts them there.

The project file needs to be in the EverWeb folder in the Application Support folder before it will appear in the Project window.

Follow up to this discussion. I have found the folder in the Applications Support Library. However, there is one .everweb file. I need to see the individual pages. To do that, do I need to do something else? Can that file be opened to become a folder (I'm thinking like unzipping a zip file)?
OR
Is there another way to do this. I know I can publish to a folder. Is that the easiest way? I did that in order to ftp my files to my web server. Then I got all the settings from them and was trying to ftp through everweb. However, the changes are not showing up on my site after the ftp is completed.
Today, I finished a page that I'd left off the menu till it was complete. I checked the box to 'Include page in navigation menu', saved the changes and published via ftp to my web server. It said it was all finished, but that page is not visible and it is not showing on the menu, though it does show in the preview inside everweb. Baffling!

Make sure you are viewing the latest version of the site and not the one cached by the browser.

Either empty the browser cache, or add a ? to the end of the URL or hit the refresh button a few times.
