Better dr0p-down menu options

Current dr0p-down menu options are extremely limited: can't align menu items properly, can't turn off background color (ie to transparent), can't change font size, sliding dr0p-down is not an option etc etc. I know these things can be implemented by adding code in the appropriate locations, but still, that's a cumbersome workaround that most people can't be bothered with. What's the outlook for improvements in this area?

The styles for a dr0p down navigation menu are fairly complicated. A widget to create on is a compromise between the number of available settings and ease of use. Some users seem to struggle with just the settings available and would probably get totally confused if too many more were introduced. To be able to adjust more or less anything in a navigation would require a basic knowledge of the various selectors and what they do. For anyone with this knowledge, it is actually easier to add overwrite styles using CSS in the Site Wide Head Code box. A better solution would be to have a choice of navigation widgets to create different styles and keep the number of settings to a minimum. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Hi Niels You can change the size of the font. Just select the box that contains the menu, then select Format: Fonts: Show Fonts. Now you can change the size and styling of the font in the menu. You can set the menu background to the same as the browser background or page background. Again with you menu selected go to the Inspector pane on the right hand side and select the cog. Set the background of the menu to the colour that matches your page/browser background. Menus are difficult and in EverWeb there is some compromise. I hope the guys get to make menus and navigation a bit more flexible in future. |
