Viewing Background color display issues

Background color display issues

User: Bernd M. 11 years ago
Hi,

I'm a new member here, and a new user of EverWeb. Not new to creating and editing websites, though, starting with GoLive (in 1995) and a lot of recent iWeb work. If anything I write here has already been solved or mentioned elsewhere, bear with me :-)

So, here is my first bug: the color display of the website/page background is off by 5%. I'm currently trying to rebuild one of my websites (originally made in iWeb), and you can see, there's a lot of different shades of grey. I've set the page background to 15% brightness (grey scale slider), and the color of the rectangle in the lower left to 20%.

These settings (15% background vs. 20% rectangle fill) look IDENTICAL in the EverWeb editor. They look (correctly) different when previewing in a browser. Makes it somewhat difficult when working on the page…

What version of EverWeb are you using? Make sure you have version 1.4 which fixes some color matching issues.

Can you show a screenshot of the color panel opened for each color setting (for the background and for the shape). The color profiles may be different.

Hi Paul,

you mean profile as in "sRGB, Adobe RGB, ECI RGB"? How would that come into play with EverWeb generated objects? Haven't found a profile related setting yet. Both elements are NOT imported pics.

I just tried this and it worked OK for me.

I'll need you to send me your website project file then so I can take a look.

In the Projects window in EverWeb, right click on your website and select the 'Show On Disk' option.

**DO NOT move this file from this location on your computer**

Please compress the project file before sending it to me by right clicking on it and selecting Compress. You can upload it at http://ge.tt or http://www.dropbox.com and send the link support.

Make sure to describe the problem you are experiencing when you send your email.

Paul,

I haven't found an e-mail address, so I've sent the file as attachment to a newly created ticket. I hope this will work as well.

Bernd
