Publishing Problems in Everweb 1.3.1, 1.4 b9

Hi, I have two issues riegarding publishing and uploading my site: 1. I built a new site in Everweb, based on my old iWeb Site. Every time I even change as much as a comma on one of the pages, Everweb "publishes", which I guess means generates code, for only the changed page, which then dutifully changes from red to grey. However it then proceeds to upload the entire site again, which takes about half an hour. I read in earlier posts that you were working on this problem and hoped to have a solution in version 1.4, but it does not seem to have worked yet. Or am I doing anything wrong? I used the "Publish site changes" option from the file menu. It would be really great to get that fixed, as it makes the site unusable for long periods of time . 2. I tried to put in a number of redirects, some to avoid the empty page that appears when one clicks on a directory in the navigation bar, another that times out my welcome page and redirects to a different page after 30 seconds. I used Roddy's sample code with relative urls in the head code box. These redirects all work fine in the preview mode for both firefox and safari, but none of them works in the uploaded version under everweb 1.4. I think that the nav bar redirects worked on occasion when published through version 1.3.1. The other rrdirect never worked on the published site. What could be happening during upload there? Thank you very much! Malte |

As far as (2) is concerned, can you publish the URL to a page that has a non functional meta refresh (redirect) so that we can see the code?

Hi Roddy and all, there is an explanation for part (2). The Preview accepts file names with capital letters, whereas all file names are converted to minor letters only when uploaded. Links written with capital letters then found no targets. Is that supposed to be so or is that a bug? No change as to part (1). Everweb 1.4 also forgets that I wanted to publish per FTP and asks me two times to specify the local folder I want to publish to. Have a great day everyone out there! Malte |

The fact that EverWeb converts file names to lower case is smart. The fact that it converts external file names to lower case is not so smart!
