Moving to EverWeb solved nothing

I moved my site from GoDaddy to EverWeb this morning in an attempt to fix the "upload all when making a small change" problem. Site was uploaded to the account before the name servers were changed.
Now -
1) The 404 redirect doesn't work. (fixed - I forced a 301 redirect. I'd much rather have the 404)
2) I did an adjustment on it and clicked on "Publish site changes" and everything changed to red. Using the internal FTP is much slower than FileZilla. It'll be two hours to publish the whole site vs. 40 minutes with filezilla.

Later...
After everything was uploaded again I made a minor change to one page. Clicked on Publish Site Changes and Publish. (Setting was Everweb)
This time not everything turned red but it still insisted on uploading everything. It would look at the server, noted the directory was already created, and then uploaded almost everything else.
Total time to make a small change - about 20 minutes.

Sorry for the problems you are experiencing.

1. a 301 redirect is very different than a 404 redirect. I answered your question in your other forum so that may help you here, otherwise please describe in more detail what the issue is so I can help you further.

2. It will change to red if you update a file name that is used in the navigation bar, if you change the header/footer code sections for your site, or if you update a Master Page used on all pages as well as in a few other areas.

EverWeb only publishes changed files, but it has to go through all files when publishing so it know what needs to be published. We are working on making this faster in a future version though.

Paul -

I understand Everweb is a work in progress and is still young in what will be a great career. I wasn't complaining, just passing on what I'm seeing. It's good to hear you're looking at speeding the FTP process up. Are the settings available to use something like FileZilla for now?

Thanks.

I will second the issue with only publishing site changes. Even if I go in and only change a line of text in the body of the page it will still want to upload the entire site, turning all pages red. It doesn't seem to have any issues while the program is still open and I make changes, but once I close EW and go back in, even it's the slightest change to a page, it will upload the entire site again.
