Viewing Footer background color?

Footer background color?

User: Zoe C. 12 years ago
I want to create an effect like on the EverWeb site where the footer section has a different background color than the main content section.
Does anyone know how to do this?
Thanks!

Ah, nevermind. I figured it out.
If anyone is wondering, you can just enter body CSS attributes in the footer code section.

Hi Zoe,

No you shouldn't do that. You can place a shape within the footer section of your site.

To place any object in the footer, hold down the command key as you drag the shape.

Thanks Paul.
But I'm wondering... Will the shape follow the page layout if I've chosen dynamic width?
Is there a way to anchor it to the edges of the page?
Or do I have to use the centered layout (which is fine)?

Dynamic width is not really much of an option yet since we can't insert dynamic content at this time.

The footer code box inserts code into the body of the HTML doc so you can use internal styles. What you can do is create a div in an HTML snippet and use an internal style in the Head Code box or an inline style in the Snippet. That's how it was done for THIS website. This is a better way since it avoids the use of an image.

At the time of creating the site, the widget didn't exist - otherwise I would have used it.
