Everything marked as changed

The system does not seem to remember which target you are using for "publish to". The default is "Folder"

In my case I almost always publish to "FTP Server".

If you call up a site and make any change on any page and then go to the site title and reset the "publish to" to "FTP Server" than every page gets marked as changed. This results in very long upload times because everything gets uploaded via FTP. Sure if you remember to change the "Publish to" before you start this doesn't happen but it is rather inconvenient.

What version of OS X are you using?

We have had some reports that users on OS X 10.6 are experiencing this issue but we are not yet able to reproduce this here.

I'm having the same problem with the latest OSX.
Anything I can provide that would help chase it down?
It causes about 90 minute uploads to my 3rd party hosting service.

Hi, I am using 10.7.5 (Lion)

To H. Courtney:

I am now publishing to a temporary local folder and using FileZilla to upload to my server. FileZilla has options not to upload files which have not changed. Files previously uploaded will of course stay on the server even if no longer included in the project. Also you need to sync your local system time with the server time to get this to work properly. In my case local is Europe and my Server is in Toronto in Canada. 6 Hours difference.

Thanks Paul, I can do that too. I'd much rather use the internal FTP in EverWeb as it cuts out a lot of steps. The fact that it works for some and not others is a mystery. So far the developers haven't shown much interest in chasing it down. I suspect they're busy and attacking stuff the affects the most people first.

Some problem here Paul W.
I started to use Publish To FTP Server since it was possible with EverWeb and all of my projects were saved as this Publish To FTP Server settings was active. However each time when I open any existing project EverWeb defaults back to the Publish To Folder setting. Somehow it doesn't remember that the project was saved as Publish TO FTP Server. And each time when I start EverWeb I have to go to the File menu > Edit Publish Setting to do the unavoidable change from Folder to FTP publishing. Resulting in an upload of ALL of my pages (they are all marked red) after I make one change in one of the pages and choose File menu > Publish Site Changes.

EverWeb version 1.4b7 Built 1240
MacOS X version 10.9.2 (13C1021)

We are definitely committed to tracking this issue down.

OK, we're going to put in some extra debug code into the next beta. I'll post it shortly for you guys to try out. It will give me more details so that I can locate why the last published location is not being set.

Sorry for the inconvenience. I'll do my best to get this resolved ASAP for you guys.

I am seeing this problem too. I made a change to 2 pages, they appeared with the red highlight in the tree. I selected Publish Site Changes. It asked for a Folder. I last published to ftp, I never publish to Folder. I changed the site to publish to ftp, and it did remember all of my settings for the ftp publish. However, upon changing to ftp, it then set ALL of my pages to red.

""However, upon changing to ftp, it then set ALL of my pages to red."" iWeb used to do this also when changing publishing settings.

Okay, however it lost that I last published to ftp and never published to folder. That is why I was forced to change it to ftp.
