| On my desktop I have the Local Folder where I published my site. But in EW, the files are lost - how can I fix this problem? I worked much on the project... where does EW save the projects? | |

Sorry for the problems you are experiencing. Did you send the crash report to us? And if so, did you include your name and email so I can look it up? Without seeing the crash report I cannot know why it crashed or how to fix this issue. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

| The same thing happened to me yesterday. All that's left are my assets files and the master page template. To my knowledge the system did not "crash" as I was not asked to create a crash report. Are all of my pages lost? Is there anyway to get them back? | |

| The program crashed my entire computer too. I was working for about two hours without any problems, and then it crashed my computer. I had been saving the site all along, so I wasn't worried, but when I restarted, it was all gone. I sent in a ticket, and have gotten nothing but the run-around since. I've asked twice now for an update with no response, though the last one was earlier today. I'm in customer support myself, and this is horrible support so far. People rely on websites for their businesses. If it crashes and ruins everything, that's money (for the software) and time down the drain - not to mention it delays our business. | |

Thank you. Your program for replying may not be working correctly then. I received two emails on 4/17, both of which I responded to and have received nothing since - I checked spam too. I've downloaded 1.4. The website is still gone, but I'm more confident to re-create it. Quote: Paul-RAGESW - 23/04/2014 15:25:18 Hi Angela,

I didnt sent the crash report because I thought EW just crashed and when I restart it ill work on from my last save but when I restarted EW I lost so much.. My work on the Website was not some hours it was a process about some months... At least I decidet to remake the project, but im little scared if this can happen again to me, so thats why I want to ask is there a way to save the project files and make a backup or something like that? |

The EverWeb project files are stored in the user library. The path is … ~library/Application Support/EverWeb Quote: is there a way to save the project files and make a backup or something like that? You need to get into the habit of saving regularly as you working using the File menu or doing: command s I try to remember to save the changes on every page before moving to the next. You should backup your project files via Time Machine after every session to an external drive. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! The same thing happened to me 2 days ago. I have posted in the How do I? forum but have received no response. I have lost a whole bunch of pages after publishing the site. I was not aware of the problem until I reopened Everweb later that night. Unfortunately, I am away from home so have not got Time Machine on. The project files saved in Application Support seem to be just the whole projects which must be opened with Everweb. I cannot see the individual pages as I could with iweb. I don't know how to see the published files either in a folder or on the host. The project affected still shows as much larger than the other very similar projects as it had this extra directory. The directory has disappeared along with all its pages except one! so I know it hasn't been deleted by mistake. The pages are all greyed out and their is no revert to saved or undo available because I didn't do anything after publishing. I very much lost heart and did no work over the weekend as I don't know why this happened and don't know how to avoid it happening again. I understand from other posts that this is a west coast company and that they don't do weekend support but I thought I would get a response by this evening. In a way, at least I find that it has happened to others but am concerned at the lack of response from the technical department. I am contemplating stopping my account before my 60days is up in a couple of weeks and going back to iweb which never caused any problems and my other host, JustHost, who still host my iweb sites and whose customer service has always been outstanding. I liked Everweb for the ease of publishing things (this is not my day job, I just make the sites for client information) like the gallery sliders, but I can live either without pretty galleries or with putting the extra work in. And iweb still has my blog anyway. Its just depressing, the thought of repeating hours of work, even though I have most of the text, its all the formatting and laying out that takes the time. Any way good luck to you other poor souls! |

Quote: I was trying to save in my desktop Do you mean that you had the EverWeb folder on the desktop rather than in the default location in the user library Application Support folder? ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! It sounds like you should open a support ticket to see if you can get help with this. Your project files should be in the EverWeb folder inside the Application Support folder in the user library. Are you saying that this folder has disappeared or that the project file(s) inside is not there? ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb!
