Contact form still not working

Hi Paul Have downloaded 1.3.1 and still not getting the contact form to work. After previous discussions, discussed whether there were any special requirements with my host and they said none. Have also tried a different email address. When I hit "submit" the form clears and the screen blinks, but I don't get an email sent acknowledgement, and no email arrives. Have tried in Firefox and Safari. Have missed a couple of important messages so it is getting annoying, fortunately they followed up elsewhere. Thoughts on what to do next appreciated. |

When I first tried the contact form widget I got the same result. This is because the path to the PHP file has a forward slash on it… /ew_PHP/ew_contactform.php Removing this gave me the nasty little popup although no email arrived at the designated address. At this point I gave up! I use my own form anyway because I like to create the styles and have the ability to return the visitor to a particular page of the site once the form has been sent. I use the free PHP script from tectite.com to process it. I then set up a mailbox on the server to redirect the result to a gmail address which I can pick up in Mac mail and avoid all the spam and the inconvenience of having to login to the server. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Too bad the contact form widget in EverWeb is not reliable.... Guess I'm back to Jot or Fox forms... S ------------------------------- MacBook Pro 15in Retina 10.14.6 Nevada, U.S.A Apple since OS 7.1 LE II (pizza box) |

Quote: Too bad the contact form widget in EverWeb is not reliable.... Guess I'm back to Jot or Fox forms... It is reliable. It works properly. If it does not work it is most likely a publishing or third party server error. It uses standard code but some servers block any emailing to avoid spam. If you use EverWeb to publish directly to your server it will work. In the case of the original poster here, it was due to a rare bug which we fixed for the next version. I run a lot of email through my server... Is there a particular port or setting that could block it? JotForm and FoxyForm work fine... S ------------------------------- MacBook Pro 15in Retina 10.14.6 Nevada, U.S.A Apple since OS 7.1 LE II (pizza box) |

I found that EW form was not working every single time... Sometimes it would work perfectly sometimes not. Would my server only block it (sometimes)? S ------------------------------- MacBook Pro 15in Retina 10.14.6 Nevada, U.S.A Apple since OS 7.1 LE II (pizza box) |

Jot form and foxy form work because they send over their own server and not yours. Did you check your spam folder to see if emails are going there? ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

The (send) button doesn't even work. I've tried restarting, creating a new page bunch of things, nothing helps. S ------------------------------- MacBook Pro 15in Retina 10.14.6 Nevada, U.S.A Apple since OS 7.1 LE II (pizza box) |
